CLIMAVORE: On Tidal Zones October Celebration

An image of the Oyster Table on the intertidal zone at Bayfield Shore

Duilich, chan eil seo ri fhaighinn ach sa Bheurla an-dràsta.

CLIMAVORE: On Tidal Zones’ October block of programming will take stock of the project’s history over the past five years, celebrating local partnerships, conversations, alternative ingredients, economy, industry and looking at the climate crisis. We aim to acknowledge the complexed, nuanced interspecies relationships between ourselves, the coasts and of course (inter)tidal zones.

We have a series of events throughout October in relation to this, which you can find here:

The World's Who's Oyster?

This is an online event examining local ways of responding to human-induced climate change by examining local ecosystems. It will feature Ailsa McLellan, Dr Kathryn A. Burnett and Professor Emeritus Michael Danson and Cooking Sections as speakers, chaired by Ainslie Roddick.

Climate Research Walk

This is outdoor walk with local climate researcher Eilidh Towers, centred around the Scorrybreac shore and discussing how climate change can be observed via the Arctica Islandica clam shell.

CLIMAVORE: On Tidal Zones residency sharing at Òb nan Ròn

Oyster Table Celebratory Lunch

In celebration of five years of CLIMAVORE: On Tidal Zones, a final celebratory meal at the Oyster table itself will look back to reflect upon the past five years, but also look forward to envisage how a new future will look with CLIMAVORE.
