Come along to Òb nan Ròn, the tidal area in Staffin known for its wildlife including seals and seaweed, for an afternoon event of field exploration, discussion and local dulse soup with Naoko Mabon, Angus Murray and Caroline Ross.

Following a short exploration of Òb nan Ròn with Angus Murray, Manager of Druim nan Linntean | Skye Ecomuseum, participants will sit down on the shore area for a sharing and discussion around the On Tidal Zones research findings of Oban-based curator Naoko Mabon. The event will finish with delicious dulse soup made by Caroline Ross with a special recipe deeply attached to Caroline’s family and the Staffin area.

Notes for participants

  • We will meet at the boat house by the Staffin Harbour Carpark at 2pm
  • Please bring your own mug and spoon for Dulse soup.
  • This is approximately a 1.5h outdoor walk involving an exploration of rocky shore. Please come with outdoor/waterproof clothing with good walking shoes and/or wellington boots.
  • Children and pets are welcome but they are the responsibility of the accompanying parent or guardian.
  • Please note that there is no public toilet nearby.
