Lewis-based Gaelic Artist, Màiri NicllÌosa spent some time in 2021 as artist in residence with Tobar an Dualchais. During this period she researched recordings from the Uig area of Lewis and conducted her own fieldwork. She then explored the surrounding environment to create new connections with the local community.
As part of this residency Màiri has developed a new piece of work based on one particular story of a piper from Uig. This facebook talk will give insights into how art can engage sensitively with Gaelic communities and shed new light on stories from our past.
