Join willow weaver Monique Bervoets on a gentle stroll through Balmacara woods. Monique will point out materials she uses in her basket making and talk about what inspires her.
ABOUT MONIQUE BERVOETS
Monique makes her own baskets and other works from willow she grows in her garden. She loves using a material that has been so important to this area for making all sort of containers such as fish traps, creels, coracles and herring cran. Her work is often seen at historical gatherings museums, and craft fairs where she offers demonstrations and short courses.
ABOUT BALMACARA WOODLAND WALK
The woods at Balmacara are a beautiful spot for enjoying the fresh air. You’ll find easy walks among the varied trees, gorgeous views from the hillside above the woods and discover fascinating stories of the area. The walk will be a maximum of 5 miles with mainly forestry track and some tarmac areas.
