Interested in setting up a new coastal rowing club in North Skye, or finding out a bit more about how to take the Tommy Mackenzie boat out?
The boat’s users are looking for a place to keep the boat longer term and for people interested in sustaining its use, including setting up a new North Skye coastal rowing club. The skiff hasn’t been out much since launching in 2023, and this session is for interested people to get a go on the water and to help make a plan for how to form as a rowing community.
All are welcome to join, whether you’re a seasoned rower or a novice, if you’re interested in giving it a try and accessing the boat come along. Bring along something to share if you would like!

The shore is uneven and can be slippery. If the weather is bad we will reschedule on another date – please keep an eye on our website and social media for any updates.
This boat belongs to you and we want to make it possible for as many folk to get out on the water and give it a go as wish to. Rowing experience is not necessary. All ages are welcome.
Life jackets are provided and first aid and water is on the beach. Getting in and out of the boats requires folk to hop on from an uneven shore. You must be ok with getting a wee bit wet. Try to avoid wellies and other heavy boots. Have fun and see you on the water!

Please note there is no public parking in the area. Nearest public parking is in town (10min walk) or at the start of the Scorrybreac walk (4min)
