As part of CLIMAVORE: Educate we are also collaborating with Portree Primary School and Skye-based artist, Philippa Thomas. Your Shore is a six-week, creative seashore project using the oyster table and tidal zone in Bayfield, Portree, as the focal point. The themes of CLIMAVORE will be explored with the 28 pupils, educating them on the foreshore and its inhabitants.
Phillipa will lead the creative workshops which will develop artistic skills such as intuitive and creative mark making, printing and bookmaking. Expert, Janet Ullman lead a walk to the oyster table where pupils were encouraged to look under rocks and identify different creatures, alive and dead as well as seaweeds, and flotsam and jetsam.
