ATLAS Arts is looking to recruit new Trustees to join our board of directors. If you have an opinion about arts and culture in our area, want to learn more about how we work, and think you can give a little time to our team, get in touch.

We’re looking for people who share our values, first and foremost. You should have a keen interest in what ATLAS does and can offer our team moral, critical and practical support. There are many ways you could make a difference by becoming a board member, such as joining a recruitment panel or programme meeting, giving critical guidance, helping set up an event, updating a policy, proof reading a document, making food, etc.

Over the next few years, working with our board, ATLAS will be focusing on:

  • Reflecting on previous years work and assessing future needs to develop a new Strategic plan for 2028 – 31

  • Communicating a clear vision for what ATLAS does locally

  • Supporting an increased team and an increasing number of projects

  • Developing real community impact through our creative practice

  • Sustainable, secure work for artists, across the sector

  • Long term work with young people

Across 3 or 4 appointments, we are looking to recruit:

  • People with strong local knowledge and networks

  • People experienced with activism and local organising

  • People of colour

  • Publishing experience

  • Land /legal /charity law experience

  • Strategic planning experience

  • Youth work /safeguarding

  • Accessibility and EDI planning

  • 1 or two folk with existing board experience

We would love to hear from people with and without formal board experience, and one or two folk who might consider the role of Vice Chair, or Chair in future.

If you are not sure if you’re the ‘right’ person or have enough experience, or might not have time commitment, please feel free to get in touch for a chat to discuss.
