Dr Katharine Earnshaw specialises in expanded readings and interpretations of Classic texts to look at present and future landscape decisions and agricultural ethics. Her work initiates a discourse with science, geography, philosophy, agricultural landscapes and practice, environmental ethics, and environmental approaches to literature.
With Katharine, Lauren will look at ‘voice’, decision making and policy in landscape. A public research process will see Ancient and Classical texts such as Virgil’s ‘Georgics’ (an agricultural poem) and folkloric stories of ‘voiced’ animals discussed alongside contemporary rural voices, policy developments and imminent landscape decisions.
