On Tidal Zones Residency: Workshop with Bun-sgoil Ghàidhlig Phort Rìgh
Workshop with Bun-sgoil Ghàidhlig Phort Rìgh
Hayley led a workshop with a group of 18 children in P6 and 7 from Bun-sgoil Ghàidhlig Phort Rìgh, exploring the intertidal zone around the Bayfield Shore.
Together we learned how to identify different species that can be found along the shoreline, aided by a specially designed linocut worksheet series on intertidal zone.
Through this, the group was then encouraged to explore the intertidal area to see what sort of seaweeds, shells or thriving life they could themselves find.
AN AIRD, BRAES Rocky Shore walk
On Saturday 30th October we explored the rocky shores around An Aird, Braes with CLIMAVORE: On Tidal Zones researcher in residence Hayley Wolcott.
We learned how to identify different species that live along our coastlines, and heard more about Hayley’s residency, and printmaking practice. We shared a warming cup of dulse hot chocolate and everyone who attended got to take hope a specially commissioned print series made by Hayley.
