1.35pm singer and artist Siôn Parkinson performs a selection of songs that together intone a shoal of deep-sea creatures
2.00pm writer and poet Rody Gorman shares his multiform and multilingual songs and poems based on ‘The Frenzy of Sweeney’
2.30pm Gaelic singer Anne Martin performs Gaelic songs that evoke a true sense of place and call to mind the Bistritsa Babi

3.30pm songwriter and sound artist Hector MacInnes sings traditional sea shanties as well as a new addition, composed in the afternoon’s workshop
From 1.00pm there will be a BBQ by the RNLI with refreshments served by the Skye Sailing Club
Sea shanty workshop //1.30 – 2.30pm
Join songwriter and sound artist Hector MacInnes for a crash course in sea shanty writing, and hear your labours performed among traditional shanties and maritime songs. Bring your ideas, your hearty voices and a sturdy sou’wester! Aimed at children, but all welcome.

Haiku guided walk //3.00 – 4.30pm
Join poet Rody Gorman and interpretive guide, Rosie Somerville, on a guided walk around Scorrybreac. You will learn to write Haiku poetry in response to the walk and the sea. Bring suitable waterproofs and walking boots and a notebook.

Singing for the Sea is a film installation which documents a group of eight female Bulgarian singers performing traditional songs on Sugar Sands, Northumberland, on the coast of the North Sea. The film was co-commissioned by Artangel in 1993.
