Zoë Walker and Neil Bromwich
Zoë Walker (b. 1968, Glasgow) and Neil Bromwich (b. 1966, Northampton) are a collaborative duo based in Glasgow. Together they have been making work since 1998 that explores social cohesion, absurdist humour and notions of the sublime – the duo work site-specifically to engage audiences in large-scale projects. Often allowing the narratives of place to influence questions of the nuances of locality, Walker & Bromwich investigate the various aspects of society which are seen as unjust. They encourage collective dreaming for a better world and how this might manifest – their practice ranges across sculpture, theatre, filmmaking, radio, protest, pageant and public interventions to enable participants to consider this.
Walker & Bromwich’s work has been presented at; Tate Britain, London; Museum of Contemporary Art Australia, Sydney; The Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, Edinburgh; Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art, Gateshead; The Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, Melbourne; Kiasma Museum of Contemporary Art, Helsinki; Thessaloniki Biennale, Greece.
