Steve Dilworth

Born in Yorkshire, Steve Dilworth (b. 1949) is currently a sculptor based on the Isle of Harris in the Outer Hebrides. Dilworth uses the landscape around him as inspiration, often incorporating objects found in Harris, that were once living, into his sculptures to give them a historical energy. Dilworth’s art practice is often described as being quite ritualistic and shamanistic.

Dilworth has participated in many group shows, including Thinking Big at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, Venice; Evolution, an exhibition with Peter Randall–Page, Damien Hirst and Jon Buck, at Pangolin Gallery. Many of Dilworth’s sculptures are part of council-owned collections of work throughout the UK with notable public sculptures including Venus Stone and Claw at Goodwood Sculpture Park, and Case at the University of Aberdeen.
