Morag Henriksen was born in Lochcarron, Wester Ross. After studying at The Edinburgh University she moved to Portree, in the Isle of Skye. Henriksen taught in Edinburgh and Portree and was headteacher of Uig Primary School for ten years. In 1995 she took early retirement because of M.E. Since then she has developed her own therapies with writing and drawing and painting. She has used her voice and lifelong interest in folk-music to bring song therapy to others in daycare centres and residential homes.
