Leighton Jones

Leighton Jones is an Isle of Skye based composer, pianist and songwriter. He has composed, recorded and performed with various Scottish bands on several studio albums; notably The Peatbog Faeries, T-Break winners and indie sensation Injuns, and Skye folk-noir pioneers The Dead Man’s Waltz. National and international tours with these acts has led to major festival appearances. Jones performed in Scottish Opera’s pop-up theatre royal show touring Glasgow in 2014, and released his debut single ‘The Last Train From Paris’.

In 2014 Jones composed, produced and directed Death as a New Beginning – A Balletic Short Film, featuring members of Scottish Ballet and supported by Creative Scotland. The soundtrack was recorded in collaboration with Susan Appelbe and performed at the CCA for the opening of the Glasgow Film Festival 2013, introducing The Dead Man’s Waltz multi-media show Story’s End.
