Craig Coulthard

Born in Rinteln, Germany, Craig Coulthard (b. 1981) is an artist based in London whose work is characterised by questioning tradition and assessing the evolution of what is deemed to be ‘traditional’ within different areas of society. Working on large scale public works, films, music and textiles, the breadth of Coulthard’s work is incredibly varied.

Coulthard has exhibited widely and commissioned on a number of large-scale presentations; presenting at the first Athens Biennale in 2007 as part of the group exhibition Young Athenians; Edinburgh Art Festival 2011 in the group exhibition Solar; Forest Pitch commissioned for the London 2012 Festival & Cultural Olympiad; The Drummer & the Drone as commissioned by Edinburgh Art Festival for GENERATION: 25 Years of Contemporary Art in Scotland.
