Join artist and sculptor Liondsaidh Chaimbeul on a walk through the Killilan Estate at Camusluannie, Dornie. Liondsaidh will be discussing her work as a sculptor, what inspires her about this area and how it influences her practice.
ABOUT LIONDSAIDH CHAIMBEUL
After graduating from Edinburgh College of Art she became involved in the Collective Gallery, Edinburgh, and was a founder member of the Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop. Liondsaidh now lives and works in her studio in Kyle of Lochalsh and continues to make work in wood and more recently metal work.
This five-mile walk will meander through birch woods with a chance of seeing wildlife such as stags and otters once you get to the river. The path is muddy in parts with some tarmac tracks.
ATLAS Arts has collaborated with local walking groups and artists to curate a series of walks around the Isle of Skye and Lochalsh. This programme connects community, art and the environment through a series of walks designed to highlight different areas of Skye and Lochalsh and introduce participants to the work of local artists and how the environment inspires their creativity.
