A Work for the North Atlantic // Singing for the Sea – Closing Event

We had a fantastic turnout for our very special event to mark the closing of Bethan Huws’ film installation Singing for the Sea at the Skye Sailing Club, on 1 October.
The weather was wonderful and we had performances by; local pipers, Frieda and Dougal McKiggan, singer and artist, Siôn Parkinson, writer and poet, Rody Gorman, Gaelic singer, Anne Martin and songwriter and sound artist Hector MacInnes.

The RNLI served up one of their famous BBQs and the Sailing Club provided us with refreshments and freshly baked cakes.
There was also a sea shanty workshop with Hector MacInnes and a Haiku guided walk with Rody Gorman and Rosie Somerville.
